1-7 September
Love Lamb Week, was started by Cumbrian sheep farmer Rachel Lumley in 2015. The week (1-7 September 2018) is an industry-wide initiative involving the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), the National Sheep Association (NSA), the National Farmers’ Union (NFU), Red Tractor, HCC in Wales, LMC Northern Ireland and QMS in Scotland.
Love Lamb Week aims to increase awareness and sales of lamb amongst UK consumers. This year there will be a strong message around the seasonality and sustainability of lamb production, which delivers a tasty and nutritious product to the plates of consumers. Many young consumers are motivated to purchase products that match their ethical views with regards to welfare and environmental impact, and lamb has a strong story to tell.
