Auction market throughputs in the week ended 29 November totalled 113 thousand head, a similar level as last week. However, compared to the same week last year this is a 20% decline. Cull ewe throughputs totalled 37.5 thousand head, a 2% rise on the week and a 4% year-on-year increase.
The GB deadweight NSL SQQ recorded little change during the week ending 25 November standing at 397.1, which is a 0.9p rise on the previous week. The measure stands 14.2p above the same week last year. Compared to the 5 year average for this week, this year’s prices were 21p higher. Estimated slaughterings were 266.4 thousand head during the week, a similar level to those recorded last week. Compared to year earlier levels this is a 2% decline.
