Strategic Farm Event: Improving Grassland Management – Plymouth

Beef & Lamb Strategic Farms, part of AHDB’s wider inspiring farm excellence network, aim to demonstrate clear advances in on-farm productivity by monitoring performance and implementing best practice.
John Haimes manages a holding of 230ha which includes a herd of 100 suckler cows with youngstock sold as stores. One of his main objectives as part of strategic farms is to improve his grassland management. This event will be an opportunity to learn more about the strategic farm and in particular its key focus areas for grassland improvement. These areas include growing forage crops to extend the grazing period, making better quality silage and setting up a grazing platform.
