Strategic Farm Event: Improving grassland management – Nottinghamshire

July 5 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm

Free

Beef & Lamb Strategic Farms, part of AHDB’s wider inspiring farm excellence network, aim to demonstrate clear advances in on-farm productivity by monitoring performance and implementing best practice.

With 400ha of land down to grass, Joe stocks 330 Angus suckler cattle with youngstock taken through to finish, as well as finishing 200 Angus cross dairy stores per year. Joe aims to finish all of the youngstock from a purely forage based diet and therefore ensures high standards of grassland management is key. This event will be an opportunity to learn more about the strategic farm and in particular its key focus areas for grassland improvement. These areas include measuring and monitoring grass growth to plan grazing allocations and improving the existing grazing platform.
