Strategic Farm Event: Improving grassland management – North Yorkshire
July 13 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm
Strategic Farms for Beef & Lamb, part of the wider Farm Excellence Platform, aims to demonstrate clear advances in on-farm productivity by monitoring performance and implementing best practice.
Guy currently rents 400ha near Whitby, he runs a herd of 190 suckler cows with the majority of progeny finished on farm. One of Guys main objectives of Strategic Farms was to improve his grassland management. This event will be a great opportunity to learn about the changes Guy has made including setting up a grazing platform, measuring and monitoring grass growth and implementing rotational grazing. This year Guy has also used synchronization and AI on some of his heifers to improve the quality of his replacements, this will also be discussed at the event.
