Beef Cattle Nutrition Workshop
December 18, 2017 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm
Feeding management of beef cattle can be divided into the three main stages of rearing, growing and finishing. Each phase requires different ration specifications according to cattle type and target growth rates.
Join AHDB Beef & Lamb and Bishopton Vets for this event where the different requirements of the growing and finishing stages of an animal’s life will be discussed, with the clear aim of meeting market specification and generating profit.
The event is kindly being hosted by Cinquecliffe Grange whose suckler herd consists of 200 spring calving suckler cows with offspring taken through to finishing. Neil Eastham of Bishopton Vets will explain the changes made on the farm over the last couple of years, to increase growth rates and maximise suckler efficiency.
During the event there will be an opportunity to view the herd, as well as evaluate current feeding management practices.
