Artificial Insemination and Synchronisation in the suckler herd webinar
March 27 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The use of Artificial Insemination (AI) can be a useful tool in the suckler herd. It enables top-class genetics to be introduced, enabling you to choose the breeding values that are important for your enterprise, without the cost of keeping a bull on farm. AI is not without its challenges however and accurate heat detection can sometimes be difficult in suckler cattle. By using synchronisation programmes, the need for heat detection can be minimised, allowing insemination to take place at a fixed time.
Join AHDB Beef & Lamb to learn more about the practicalities of AI and synchronisation in suckler herds and how it can be incorporated into your breeding plan. The webinar will be hosted by Amy Fawcett, AHDB Knowledge Transfer Officer. Amy spent eight years working in the AI industry before she joined AHDB. Her work included training as an embryo transfer technician and working as an embryologist in bovine IVF
